Jazzmin and Cluckie
Jazz, a beautiful, wild-caught Mealy Amazon, is known to be more than twenty years old. He has been a Foster Parrots resident since June of 2004. When he was introduced to the free-flight community barn, he immediately caught the eye of 7-year old Cluckie, a female Quaker Parakeet. Jazz spent his entire first day at Foster Parrots trying, with one foot, to fend off the amorous advances of the love-smitten Quaker.

Although he's roughly five times the size of Cluckie, Jazz gave up and let himself be had. The enourmous Mealy with the diminutive Quaker mate is by far the most unusual pair bond we have ever seen, but Jazz feeds Cluckie, preens her and cares for her with such tenderness that clearly this match was meant to be.
