The objective of The Lola Project is to raise funds, acquire land and construct a new facility for Foster Parrots, Ltd. which will be known as the New England Exotic Wildlife Sanctuary, or "NEEWS".   This new facility will establish a large-scale, permanent national parrot sanctuary and will represent a new approach to the evaluation and placement of unwanted companion parrots.

The name, The Lola Project, has been suggested to honor the life and spirit of Lola, a Greenwing Macaw, who survived severe abuse and neglect and who has responded wonderfully to the opportunity to live out her life in an environment of safety, security and care at Foster Parrots. Her story of survival in unnatural and abusive conditions symbolizes the tragedy of parrots in captivity. Her triumph over extreme conditions has become an inspiration to Foster Parrots to continue to provide a safe haven to abused and unwanted parrots.

As a retirement home for exotic birds, The New England Exotic Wildlife Sanctuary will offer a true "Lifetime Care" option for those seeking a permanent home for their feathered family members.
